Living in Colorado means adventure is always around the corner. But at 238 pounds, I found myself stuck inside, watching life pass me by.

I still remember that day at Copper Mountain, standing in the lodge while my family had fun on the slopes.

Every winter, I made excuses—saying I needed to watch the bags or blaming my bad knees.

The truth? I couldn’t even fit into ski pants anymore.

While my husband, kids, and grandkids made memories in the snow, I stayed behind, missing out on everything.
